"Live your own
dreams"
- CDR Patricia "Trish" Beckman (Ret.)
Flight Test Officer, Commander Beckman has logged over 3,000 flight hours in 66 military aircraft. Not bad for an enlisted person…
She joined the Navy at age 18 after high school. The first 8 years, she was a tradesman operating and maintaining flight simulators and an enlisted crewman on the C-118 and C-131. She qualified to attend North Carolina State University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering. She was then commissioned as an ensign. She later earned a Master's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
CDR Beckman has flown acceptance and operational testing on the F/A 18Ds, F-15Ds, and F-15Es. After 28 years, she retired with the Navy but continues to test fly the F/A 18.
